*The author, Babu G. Ranganathan (pronounced Ranga-nathan), was born in 1957 in Madras, India. Mr. Ranganathan is a conservative Christian and a Reformed Baptist. He converted from Hinduism to Christianity when he received the Lord Jesus Christ into his heart as his personal Savior at the young age of fourteen. The Spirit of God used the preaching of evangelist Dr. Billy Graham on television in bringing Christian repentance and faith to the author's life. As a religion and science writer, Mr. Ranganathan has been recognized in the 24th edition of Marquis Who's Who In The East. He holds a B.A. with a major in Bible and a minor in Biology from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina (class of '82). He also completed two years of full-time graduate study in law at Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Mr. Ranganathan has given well over a dozen lectures and seminars before faculty and students (including science faculty and students) at various secular college and university campuses on the scientific evidence for creation theory vs. Darwinian macro-evolution theory.
The Creation Research Society ( a trans-denominational Christian organization) has a scientific membership of hundreds of scientists with a Master's or PhD degree in the natural sciences who reject Darwinian macro-evolutionary theory for scientific as well as for biblical reasons. The Creation Research Society also offers a non-scientific membership for the general Christian public who wish to join. Also, the Institute for Creation Research (an educational institution which offers graduate degrees in the natural sciences) publishes various scientific journals and numerous articles written by highly qualified scientists on how science and the most recent scientific research and discoveries continue to support creation while refuting Darwinian macro-evolutionary theory. The founding fathers of the major branches of modern science strongly believed in the existence of God and many were even devout Christians who deeply believed in Christ and in the Bible as being God's Word. One of the giants in the field of biology was Gregor Mendel, the founding father of our modern science of genetics. Mendel was a theologian and Austrian monk who derived the laws of heredity from his carefully conducted experiments in cross breeding plants. It is from Gregor Mendel that we have obtained our knowledge and understanding of the modern laws of heredity and genetics which govern biological change and the transmission of physical traits and characteristics in species. These laws are formally known in biology as the Mendelian Laws of Genetics.
